Bronze Filigree Yields Unique Results

I’ve been a fan of filigree, brass, steel and aluminum and have used it for many years, and in a wide variety of projects. Lately, however, I’ve come across a filigree line with a unique combination of alloys and a finish that is giving me a lot of new ideas and possibilities than I have had with the others. Unlike the solid stamped brass, this filigree is thinner and less rigid, can be shaped without metal fatigue and has a mottled dark finish that accepts a variety of tinting techniques.

Formed, Trimmed & Filled Filigree

Our fabulous new altered filigree techniques, ready for you to incorporate into your own project. Choose from two types of formed filigree trimmed so petal-shaped edges can be twisted, bent or curved. Our formed filigree available with or without the polymer clay inlay.

Bronze Filligree, Formed and Pleated

This beautiful bracelet just wanted some filigree, so we "pleated" the bronze filigree then ran the bracelet wire through the center. We finished it with flowers and pearls.

Pleated Bronze Filligree Necklace with Lucite Flowers

Enjoyed the bracelet so much i decided to do a necklace. Used memory wire, threaded it through the "pleats" then adorned the filigree with lucite flowers and freshwater pearls. The 3 filigree drops are long cone bead caps with crystals hiding inside. Most of the crystals used are vintage austrian crystals.

Filigree Focus Partz

For those of you who want to try this fabulous technique, we've made up some "packets" with all the ingredients and directions you'll need to create the filigree focus piece. For all the pieces listed below $11.50.

8-10 Dyed Freshwater Pearls
8-10 Matt Acrylic Flowers in various sizes (see photo)
2 Matt Acrylic Leaves (best quality)
2 Filigree Pieces that pleat well
A yard of color-coated 28 gauge wire (to wire on flowers)
Colored wire coil (flower stems)
Bracelet or Necklace Memory Wire
